Wan Mai
Empowering communities, preserving culture, and building sustainable livelihoods.
Operating under Community Partners International (CPI), Wan Mai is a social enterprise project that aims at collaborating with local artisans, brands and entrepreneurs from Thailand, Myanmar and Bangladesh. At CPI, we focus on critical areas such as health, nutrition, emergency response and sustainable development.
With Wan Mai, we hope to work towards achieving sustainable development goals by facilitating the fulfillment of basic livelihood needs of underprivileged communities. We are utilising unconventional methods where we enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) through a holistic approach encompassing capacity building, financial, logistic and admin support.
The overall aim is to make the SMEs we collaborate with capable and self-reliant that allows them to sustain their businesses in the long-term
At Wan Mai, we are dedicated to empowering women-owned SMEs in Myanmar, Thailand, and Bangladesh through a structured three-step approach:
Gender Equality and Cultural Preservation
Our commitment extends to gender equality, with a focus on collaborating predominantly with women-owned SMEs. We believe that in supporting these women, we're not only fostering economic growth but also preserving the unique cultural products they create.
Empowerment Through Connection
Wan Mai strives to connect entrepreneurs with a vibrant marketplace in Bangkok. Through this connection, we aim to empower individuals to turn their dreams into reality.
Community Development
In alignment with CPI's strategy, Wan Mai actively engages in community development. Our activities include enhancing financial literacy, providing social impact investment support, creating learning and employment opportunities for youth, and supporting SMEs in developing business plans and leadership skills.
Long-Term Sustainability
Wan Mai isn't just about short-term gains; we're committed to long-term sustainability. Our goal is to create a thriving ecosystem where communities, cultural heritage, and SMEs' livelihoods continue to flourish.
